TOKYO DRAGON SIGHT, by Valentin Dommanget, presents photographs taken over the past six years, accompanied by a selection of digital paintings and haikus created in collaboration with an artificial intelligence. Together, they reveal a nostalgic personal vision of crystallization, destruction and rebirth - a contemporary history of Japan.

VALENTIN DOMMANGET was born in 1988 in Châlons-en-Champagne, has lived and worked in Paris, London and Berlin, and has been based in Tokyo since 2020. His practice brings together digital and traditional techniques to create hybrid works linking ancestral evocations and aesthetics derived from internet culture. His work questions the creative capacity of artificial intelligence in the field of contemporary art.
